Yesterday me and my family arrived in NL again after a short holiday in beautiful (and hot!! 39C) Turkey, to find out that there was a big planecrash in Tripoli, Libia. (ليبيا Lībiyyā) 70 Dutch were killed, and of the 104 passengers & crew, only one little boy survived.
This little boy lives in
Tilburg, NL - not far from my hometown. He had Maybreak too, and just like us, he and his family went for a holiday. They went to South-Africa, to go on safari, and never returned. His brother (11) en parents were killed in the crash.

OMG. The thought one of our two sons would be him, left alone in this world, having pain in a strange hospital with journalists crowding around his bed. It's an AWFUL & horrible thought which gives me the creeps. And I think it's horrid that the press is present at his sickbed. LEAVE THE KID ALONE. His uncle & aunt will be joining him soon I hope, it must be a horrible trip, flying to Libia, knowing all other are dead but him.
I hope God has a reason for keeping him alive, as he will suffer a lot of grieve and pain in the future next to being happy to be alive...
The worldpress is going crazy for him, and I think that's just as awful. What's wrong with the world?!?
NOS our (Dutch) national broadcasting network goes crazy too, though the Tilburger and more Dutch people are preparing to help the remaining family with their loss. Still it's a weird thought, that a little boy like this will become a symbol without wanting it. He only wanted a holiday with his family, see the lions in the African desert I presume, and now...he probably wishes they never went.
When looking at our own two boys my heart freezes thinking of them all alone, after a crash, being the sole survivor. Miracle boy?
Miserable boy would be better, the poor thing.
